Accounting’s Big But

An Accounting “Opportunity” comes with a BIG BUT 👀 😲

Tread carefully when you’re presented with an “Opportunity”. It's not false, BUT it's often misleading.

🌪 Sometimes the word “opportunity” is used to spin something negative into something positive.

Here’s what the “Opportunity” realistically looks like:

1️⃣ More work
2️⃣ Cleaning up someone else's mess
3️⃣ Fixing something that no one else could fix
4️⃣ Asked to make new sacrifices
5️⃣ Odds are stacked against you

👏 BUT if you’re able to succeed, you probably have earned some cred and should get recognized accordingly.

🚫 BUT the best growth really does come from “opportunities” like this, not SALY’ing some workpaper.

🙋‍♂️ I’m not saying don’t take the "Opportunity", you probably don’t have a choice anyway. If you did, your manager would have been seeking volunteers. BUT no one would raise their hand.

I’ve taken tons of “Opportunities” and I’m better off for it. BUT I learned a long time ago not to be fooled by the way it’s pitched.

💎 All I’m saying is, don’t be fooled by the corp speak.
