The Partner Model is Tired

Accountants say… Dangle another Carrot 🥕 🐴 😲

🤠 Making Partner at the Firm isn’t the Carrot it used to be. The new generation of workers want more than just good pay, they want WLB and meaningful work too.

😴 In public accounting, everything is built off of the Partner track and an up or out model. That’s starting to feel like a pretty tired model.

🤷‍♂️ Can’t there be another track that the firms can offer? Can’t there be another form of motivation to join the Firm or grind it out for another busy season?

The AICPA can work on the talent shortage and pipeline problem, but that doesn’t mean the Firms are off the hook.

🔮 For the young accountants that don’t want to make Partner, there isn’t much of a future in public accounting.

If your sole way of motivation is the allure of making Partner, and that’s becoming less appealing to the younger generation of workers…
